World Match Play Leading Players

The players for the World Match Play Championship is a who's who of the golfing world, there are multiple world champions and now with the move from Wentworth Golf Club  to the new course at Finca Cortesin even the current favourite Ernie Els could be in trouble leaving the world match play odds wide open.

Tiger Woods - World Number One on the Official World Golf Ranking

Adam Scott

An Australian professional golfer on of the youngest golfers in the PGA top 100, and one of the most promising players in men's golf.  So far he has 14 PGA wins under his belt.

Geoff Ogilvy

Hailing from Austrailia Ogilvy finished in the top 100 in each of his first five seasons.  His first professional tournament win came in 2005 he has since gone on to win 4 PGA wins including the US open in 2008.

Justin Rose

An English player (though born in South Africa) he has a varied career showing early promise followed by a large decline but renewed winning consistency has sparked his career again he is currently ranked 6th in the World Rankings and has won 7 major tournaments with the latest being the Australian Masters in 2007.

Steve Stricker

An American, Stricker has 6 times finished inside the Top 20 at the U.S. Open, his best finish a fifth-place score at the 1999 U.S.  He is currently ranked 7th in the World Rankings and has 11 major wins under his belt.

Jim Furyk

An American who is currently ranked 8th in the World Rankings and has won 21 tournaments.  In September 2006 he reached a career high of second in the Official World Golf Rankings.

K.J. Choi

Choi Kyung-Ju is from South Korean who is better known as K.J. Choi. He has 14 professional wins, 7 of which are PGA wins.  He is currently ranked 9th in the World Rankings.

Vijay Singh

Vijay Singh was born in Indo-Fijian, he was number one in the Official World Golf Rankings for 32 weeks in 2004 and 2005.  He has won 3 major championships including the Masters in 2000 and was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2006.
