World Match Play Players 2012 - Padraig Harrington

Padraig Harrington has had a fantastic last couple of years and is now a strong contender in any tournament that he enters. Harrington won both the Open Championship and the US PGA in 2008 to add to his Open Championship from 2007. This excellent form has seen the brilliant Irishman rise up the World Rankings in the world rankings which make him a definite contender for the World Match Play Golf at the Ritz-Carlton golf course. He struggled slightly in 2009 to recapture his best form but he did improve towards the end of the season and will be hoping to go close here.

Although Padraig Harrington is yet to win a World Golf Championship event he showed he was capable of winning in the USA when he won the USA PGA Championship last season. Harrington also has a good record in the Ryder Cup which takes a similar format to match play which will stand him in good stead for the upcoming World Match Play Golf Championship.
