2005 World Match Play Winner - Michael Campbell

In the 2005 World Match Play Championship at Wenworth Golf Club, England Campbell disposed of Australian Geoff Ogilvy 1-up before being taken to the 37th by fellow Australian, Steve Elkington, in the quarter final.  In the semi final he was up against the South African Retief Goosen who on the previous day had beaten Mark Hensby by an incredible 12 and 11 win.  Campbell then defeated Goosen 7 and 6 and the next day in the final beat Irishman Paul McGinley 2 and 1 to win the £1,000,000 prize.
